Reducing the incidence of TB in Ukraine by expanding and improving access to high-quality tuberculosis prevention and treatment services
 

Aims and objectives:

1. To improve TB diagnosing
 

2. To increase access to quality services
 

3. To strengthen the capacity of the healthcare system to respond to the challenges of TB
 

Results


• Prepared and conducted: 41 training events involving 752 experts as participants of trainings
• 1 international training on quality control in molecular genetic TB tests in tuberculosis institutions of Ukraine, Riga, Latvia.
• 1 annual meeting of the heads of 3-degree laboratories, including laboratories of the Penitentiary Service
• Participation of two national experts in the 35th Annual Congress of the European Society of Mycobacteriology, Vienna, Austria.
• 6 five-day trainings “Laboratory diagnosing of TB by bacterioscopy. Quality assurance in bacterioscopic tests in laboratories”.
• 4 ten-day trainings “Microbiological diagnosis of tuberculosis. Quality assurance in bacteriological research tests”.
• Two five-day train-the-trainer (TTT) sessions on conducting educational events on the topic of “TB case management in accordance with international and national standards and protocols.”
• 3 five-day trainings “Infection Control of TB in TB institutions of Ukraine”.
• 6 five-day trainings “Multi-Resistant TB Case Management in Accordance with International and National Standards and Protocols”.
• 3 five-day trainings “Current Issues of TB-HIV Co-infection Case Management”.
• 6 three-day trainings “Developing Patient Adherence to TB Treatment and Reducing the Stigma towards TB Patients by Applying Effective Communication Techniques and Counselling”.
• 6 five-day training sessions on monitoring and evaluation for national and regional monitoring supervision teams (monitoring units).
• 1 five-day training on monitoring and evaluation for national and regional monitoring supervision teams (monitoring units) for representatives of regional monitoring teams of the State Penitentiary Service of Ukraine (SPS)
