Ensuring equal access for representatives of groups with increased risk of HIV infection, as well as the general public, to therapeutic and preventive services is a priority of the state policy on combating socially dangerous diseases. Centres for Prevention and Control of AIDS operating in all regions of Ukraine are to turn into centres of integrated medical and social services HVG and PLWHA.
As of 01.07.2015, the ART in Ukraine was provided in 250 health facilities of the Ministry of Healthcare and National Academy of Medical Science of Ukraine, including 25 regional centres for the prevention and control of AIDS (excluding the Crimea and Sevastopol), 14 city centres for preventing and countering AIDS, 16 anti-TB institutions, 2 STD clinics, 2 narcological clinics and 1 mental hospital, 183 city / district hospitals, TMO, policlinics, National Specialized Children’s Hospital ‘OKHMATDYT’ and SI ‘Institute of Epidemiology and Infectious Diseases of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine’ (Table 22 in Annex 1).
In connection with the anti-terrorist operation, Donetsk and Luhansk regions were divided into 2 parts – that controlled by the Government of Ukraine and the temporarily occupied one.
As of 01.07.2015, of the 46 institutions in Donetsk region providing ART 26 are located on the temporarily occupied territories, including 5 out of 9 healthcare institutions of Luhansk region.
