Effective implementation of legislation is crucial in terms of improving the social protection of people living with HIV and health

On October 6, 2016 a report "Assessment of the political and legal environment in combating HIV /AIDS in Ukraine", developed by the Project USAID «Reform of HIV Services in Action" was presented.

 

The meeting of the presentation was attended by the Deputy Director of the State Institution   “Ukrainian Center for Socially Dangerous Disease Control of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine” " (hereinafter ‑ the UCDC) of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine Professor Alla Scherbinska, representatives of  the USAID -Paola Pavlenko, the Head of the Project "Reform of HIV Services in Action" - Nata Avaliani.

The objectives and research methodology, key management policies, analysis of international law, prioritization of key recommendations of the report - these issues were on the agenda in the course of the meeting discussion.

 

The report was the estimation of the political and legal environment in combating HIV/AIDS in Ukraine and presented the recommendations on priority policy changes. Policy and legislation include access to treatment and ensuring equality and legal protection.
